TWO Irvine boxers are poised to fight for Scottish titles on the same night in Glasgow.

Comeback man Ryan Brawley, who turns 31 in February, was challenged to a welterweight Scottish title fight by former champion Craig Kelly through Twitter on Saturday night and has taken up the challenge.

And Ryan Collins (23) is set for a rematch of his Scottish lightweight title fight against Andrew Mackay.

The Brawley fight has not yet been confirmed although looks likely to take place on Friday, March 3 at the Radisson Blu Glasgow and that is also understood to be the favoured date for Collins' contest.

Kelly, challenged Brawley on Saturday by tweeting: "@BrawleyRyan Scottish title fight March 3rd - let's do it."

Brawley's reply was: "Is this a call out for the Scottish title. Well think I better clear a space in the trophy cabinet. #stillgotit."

Now Brawley, who won his comeback fight in November, outpointing Casey Blair at the Radisson, almost six years after losing to Stuart Green in a Scottish lightweight title fight, is relishing the new challenge.

He is in confident mood and said: "Nothing has been confirmed yet but hopefully it will be soon. I will be training for the next seven weeks in preparation for the fight. I fought well in my last contest and am confident. It would be great if I could win a Scottish title."

Meanwhile Collins, who defeated Mackay at the Radisson in June, is gearing up for the renewal of their rivalries and said: "Andrew is a good boxer but although the fight was stopped because of a cut to my eye I won as I was three rounds to one ahead. I have been doing some light work but will now be back into training for the next seven weeks, It would be great if Ryan Brawley and I were fighting for a title on the same night. That would be great for the town and hopefully we can both win."
