Stewarton Drama Group has announced its latest series of shows as it celebrates its 50th anniversary year.

Actors will showcase two contrasting one-act plays which portray both the light and dark side of relationships.

A fractured family features in the tense drama ‘One Good Beating’, written by Scottish author Linda McLean and directed by Nancy McPherson.

This SDG production won the British final of the National One-Act Play Festival in 2008 – and a gala performance of the play opened the brand new Stewarton Area Centre in September of that year.

In total contrast, ‘Mamie McCall’s French Fancy’, written and directed by Nancy McPherson, is a bittersweet comedy/drama which shines a light on the hope ignited by a simple friendship – with some laughs along the way – as part of the menu.

This play was first performed as part of SDG’s hugely successful ‘Here Come The Girls’ production back in 2011.

The plays will be performed at 7.30pm in the Stewarton Area Centre on May 23 and 24.

Tickets are priced at £9 and are on sale now from www.ticketebo.co.uk/sdg.
