A CHILDREN’S pantomime in Irvine has been saved after fresh sponsors stepped in.
The performance of Aladdin by Irvine-based Break a Leg Drama had been in jeopardy after the main sponsor pulled out.
But the organisers set up a crowdfunding page online and were a quarter of the way to their funding target of £1,000 when they got a surprise in the shape of three new backers.
Sylvia Mallinson, of Break a Leg Drama said: “We set up the crowdfunding page last week, and then we got a phone call from Cunninghame Housing Association to say they were going to donate the full £1,000.
“Also, Vanilla Joe’s and Truss Dental got on board, so not only will the 50 children get their panto, but they’ll get a Christmas party as well! We’ve just been overwhelmed by the support.”
The performances are on December 10 and 11 at Irvine Royal Academy at 2pm. Tickets are £6 adults, £4 children, and £15 for families. Call Sylvia on 07747 744360, or buy at Vineburgh Community Centre. There are also 150 free tickets available for parties unable to buy tickets.
