A BOGUS workman who conned frail pensioners has been jailed.
Jordan Johnstone, of Irvine’s Redburn Caravan Park, admitted obtaining money by fraud from two couples back in February.
The 22-year-old firstly pretended to a couple in Maple Place, Kilmarnock - aged 83 and 81 - that he would carry out work on their driveway on February 4.
But he had no intention of completing the work and thus obtained money by fraud.
On February 15, Johnstone managed to receive money from a couple in St Stephen’s Place, Stevenston, after failing to carry out promised gardening and maintenance work.
Johnstone appeared from custody at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to seven months in prison by Sheriff Alistair Watson.
